Frank’s Cafe

Fancy sipping some cocktails atop a parking garage (also known as car park over here) on a nice summer evening while taking in a beautiful view of London’s cityscape? Then head on over to Frank’s Cafe in southeast London for just that! Only open during the summer months (usually from around June – September) this pop up bar has become quite the popular fixture of Peckham and you can expect a big crowd on an especially nice day. This is a prime example of why I love London- you can always find something fun and unexpected to do. For my first visit to Frank’s we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day and we sampled quite a few cocktails in celebration, of which my favorites were the Aperol Spritz, Moscow Mule and the Dark & Stormy. They do serve food as well but we stuck to the liquids as we were heading out to another spot for dinner later on that evening. I would definitely suggest heading on over with a group of friends before the weather turns too much cooler and take advantage of this unique London experience. According to their website, it looks like a production of Titus will be going on until the September 21st so you can get in a bit of culture with your cocktails and nibbles as well!

Summer Polaroids

summer_polaroids_01

It has been a little bit quiet here over the summer months and the look of things have changed as well! If you have a poke around you may notice that there are sub categories under the Travel Guide and London Guide sections that will hopefully make it easier to find old posts. And at the very top of the blog you will find links to social media pages (instagram, twitter, facebook and pinterest). I’ve also added side bars where you will find a few more things like a preview of the latest instagram posts, a search bar and a few more breakdowns of posts by category. My overall goal was to make the blog feel more accessible, so I hope this helps!

Reid and I have had a pretty packed summer and as a result I’ve got lots of new posts in the works, so keep an eye out on this space for new content soon. The images above were taken with my Fuji Instax which I’ve been trying to take with me where ever we go, whether it is a trip somewhere like San Sebastián or Cornwall (both above) or just a night out with friends in London. I love this version of the Instax because it gives you a few more controls/options that will affect the look of your image than previous versions have had. And the credit card size images are really adorable and easy to share with friends. We have a bowl full of these sitting in our living room that are fun to go through every now and then. I always try and write a date and place on the back of the image so down the road I can remember where things were taken. I hope you have had a good summer filled with some relaxation and maybe some travel too. I’ll be back soon with some more posts on London, our travels and life at home!
